Local Restaurant
Schematic design proposal for a restaurant developed through the transformation of an existing residential property and its adjacent outdoor areas. The project focuses on spatial reorganization, program distribution, and the integration of indoor and outdoor spaces to create a functional and cohesive dining environment.
Short Description:
The project was commissioned by a family seeking to transform their property into a restaurant, utilizing both the main house and a large adjacent outdoor area. The proposal required redefining the use of existing spaces while introducing new functions to support restaurant operations.
Project Context:
The design approach focused on reorganizing the existing spatial conditions to accommodate a full restaurant program, including dining, service, and preparation areas, while maintaining a clear and efficient layout.
Design Approach:
The proposal divides the program into distinct zones, including a bar area, dining space, kitchen, and service areas. The outdoor space was transformed into a café or take-out area, extending the functionality of the project and creating multiple user experiences within the same site.
Spatial & Program Strategy:
A key aspect of the project is the integration between interior and exterior spaces, allowing for a flexible and dynamic use of the site while enhancing the overall dining experience.
Indoor–Outdoor Integration:
The layout prioritizes efficient circulation for both users and staff, ensuring clear separation between service and customer areas while maintaining operational functionality.
