Design of a public media library developed as a third-year final academic project. The proposal explores the integration of cultural, educational, and community spaces within an urban context, emphasizing accessibility, spatial clarity, and sustainable design strategies. The project focuses on volumetric composition, functional zoning, and the relationship between public circulation and programmed spaces.
Short Description:
The project was developed as a final assignment for the third year of the architecture program, focused on designing a contemporary media library that not only provides access to information and cultural content but also supports creation, learning, and community engagement.
Project Context:
The architectural concept is based on the composition of intersecting volumes using diverse materials, representing the coexistence and unity of different cultures and ideas. The design integrates a public ground-level passage connecting the surrounding residential area with adjacent public spaces, reinforcing urban permeability and accessibility.
Design Concept / Approach:
The proposal incorporates sustainable design principles through the use of rooftop vegetation and renewable energy systems such as solar panels. These strategies contribute to environmental performance while enhancing the building’s integration with its surroundings.
Sustainability Strategy:
The project was designed to be fully accessible and inclusive, eliminating architectural barriers and creating open, flexible spaces for diverse users and community activities.
